The 28th International Exhibition of Goldsmithing and Watchmaking SJAJ was officially opened today at the Novi Sad Fair, which lasts until Monday, November 17. It is primarily intended for professionals, but it is also open to the general public. In addition to those who will participate in the GEMEXPO Exhibition tomorrow and the day after tomorrow - November 15 and 16, the Novi Sad Fair has gathered more than 60 exhibitors from Serbia, Germany, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. Visitors are expected from countries in the region, but also from distant parts of the world, as has been the case so far. The event was opened by Željko Jovišić, the owner of Zlatara Jovišić in Novi Sad, a long-time exhibitor.- This fair is not just a jewelry exhibition. It is a meeting of tradition and modernity, hands and hearts, crafts and art. Every link, every stone, every engraving testifies to the inexhaustible human need to create beauty and to share that beauty with others. Today, when the world is changing faster than ever, when technology is taking over many jobs, goldsmithing reminds us that nothing can replace the human hand, feeling and passion. Every piece of jewelry you see here carries a story - about work, about effort, about family traditions and love for beauty, said Željko Jovišić. "The fair is also an opportunity to connect, for young craftsmen to find inspiration, for experienced craftsmen to exchange knowledge, and for the audience to see how much goldsmithing is more than a profession - it is the art of living. I would like to thank the organizers, exhibitors and all those who contributed to Novi Sad shining in the light of gold, diamonds, silver and human creativity this year as well. I declare the 28th exhibition of jewelry and watchmaking SJAJ in Novi Sad open! Long live and let the gold of our craft shine, Jovišić emphasized. Executive Director for Fair Activities, Boris Nadlukač said that the SJAJ Exhibition is getting bigger every year. It grows, develops and reaffirms its unique role in connecting the worlds of valuables, art and science. Over the next four days, the Master Hall will be a space where tradition and innovation meet, where knowledge is turned into art, and a passion for beauty connects generations - collectors, artists, researchers and all those who recognize the value in the lasting and true. - This year, I am proud to point out that we have increased the exhibition area. This is not just technical information - it is a message that SJAJ is expanding its horizons and creating even more space for ideas, cooperation and inspiration. "In a world where markets fluctuate and confidence in digital and financial instruments often fluctuates, gold remains a universal measure of value, and we expect investment gold to attract special attention this year as something that is durable and secure. Together with the GEMEXPO Society, this year we are organizing an exhibition of minerals, fossils, precious stones and jewelry, with exceptional specimens that come not only from the Balkans, but also from the most distant parts of the world - from the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia and Afghanistan, which testify to the diversity and richness of our planet. Geologists and professors from the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the University of Belgrade will hold a series of lectures on topics that connect science, art and everyday life.I would like to thank our exhibitors, partners, lecturers and visitors who, with their work, knowledge and dedication, have contributed to making SJAJ shine even brighter in this 2025, added Nadlukač.
