Days of Power Supply: Increasing energy efficiency
25.10.2011.
At a professional event on natural gas, the participant discussed the new legislation related to power supply, the natural gas market in Serbia, its production, transport and warehousing, natural gas distribution, communal power supply, liquid petroleum gas and compressed natural gas.
The participants agreed that energy efficiency in Serbia needs to be improved. The advisor in charge of oil and gas at the Provincial Secretariat for Power Supply and Minerals Branislava Zubi said that the gas pipeline network in Serbia had been improved by lowering the losses and that the loss in transport was virtually non-existent.
- The natural gas distribution will be much better this year, since the natural gas warehouse in Banatski Dvor would be fully operational, thus allowing up to five million cubic metres of gas to be pumped out of the warehouse, which would, for example, cover a daily need for heating, said Zubić.
Another conclusion is that the new Law on Power Supply was a progress, but that it had to be synchronised with the EU directives, especially in the parts related to natural gas transport, distribution and warehousing.
